The challenge
A rapidly scaling B2B fintech operating across treasury, payments and international finance had just closed a double-digit million funding round and entered a decisive growth phase. Headcount was planned to scale from ~60 to 200+ employees alongside accelerated European expansion in a tightly regulated CH/EU/EFTA environment.
Serving CFOs, treasurers and accounting teams at international companies, the platform allowed no margin for error in governance, compliance or financial control. Referred by one of their main investors, we were mandated to identify a CFO capable of professionalizing the finance function at speed while acting as a strategic partner to founders and investors during hypergrowth.
Our solution
The mandate was executed within four weeks. We worked closely with the CEO to sharpen the CFO role and success criteria, then ran a targeted executive search across Switzerland and Europe - primarily via our personal network - and delivered a curated longlist and a rigorously assessed shortlist.

The role was filled with the client’s top-choice candidate, Patrick Krass, who had previously been part of a leadership team that successfully exited a regulated European fintech at a valuation exceeding CHF 500 million. He is now anchoring the company’s European expansion and building scalable finance and governance structures from Switzerland. The client has already mandated us with their next C-level search.
